It is amazing after almost 40 years of friendship, years when we weren't close, different paths in our lives, that the simple words ROAD TRIP could put us together in a car for 4000 miles and we would get along wonderfully . We went through six states, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota and Oregon in 13 days.. We missed tornado's, lightning strikes, quarter sized hail, by a hair, had wonderful lunches in Missoula ( Hob Nob), Cody ( with Deb Trotter! hi you cowgirl you) and other small very cool little restaurants . We camped Yellowstone in 32 degrees , Gambled in Deadwood, stayed on a Dude Ranch in the Badlands, drove the needles Hwy, found agates and mica (on the ground...too cool) We saw a gold mine, spent a full day in The Buffalo Bill Museum, visited Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer's Battlefield, climbed Pompey's Pillar and saw where William Clark signed his name in 1807 on his way through, had lunch at a biker bar in Sturgis, and viewed wagon ruts on the Oregon trail. We shopped till we went broke, had s'mores, outran wild fires, stayed in KoA Cabins and also hotels, cooked under the stars, enjoyed Japanese Tourists sing a gospel hymn in their language with their arms spread wide over Lower Falls in Yellowstone. Relaxed in Old Faithful Inn and Val had a shower with the waters from Old Faithful, bent her little finger, and had her credit card eaten by a machine. . We had such great timing with the viewing of wildlife. A grizzly with 2 cubs, a cow moose with her calf, a bobcat, at least 300 bison, tons of elk, prong horned antelope, deer, ravens, pelicans, bikers and cowboys!
Val, Rhonda, and Deb. We had lunch at a wonderful little Tea Room in Cody. Thank you so much Deb Trotter for your tour of Cody and your caring spirit!
